Neuroscience Institute Pilot MRI Funds
Funds are now available to support pilot MRI scans for new neuroscience projects. The Grossman Institute for Neuroscience, Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior will be awarding applicants with MRI scan hours at the MRIRC. Priority will be given to fMRI studies with a focus on brain activity and/or behavior, but all are encouraged to apply. Priority will also be given to applicants who have not yet received pilot funding, but all applications will be considered. Overall, the purpose of this award is to encourage collection of pilot MRI data that will lead to new external funding.
The Application Process
Projects will be reviewed by the applications committee and faculty with relevant expertise. An important component of your application is a plan on how you will use the data to apply for external funding.
When applying for these pilot funds please consider:
- You must be a faculty member who is a part of the Neuroscience Institute.
- Recipients of these pilot funds will be asked to present their proposed research to the MRIRC Users Group after the grant is awarded.
- Scans must be completed within one calendar year from the time of award.
- We strongly recommend that applicants obtain IRB approval before submitting their request for funds.
The deadline for submission is April 15, 2018
